How does Freighter calculate my wallet balance?

Freighter shows users their total wallet balance in USD when opening the app.

This number is calculated by adding up the value of each token balance in USD, which is a product of the balance and token price. Freighter sources the USD price by monitoring the Stellar decentralized exchange (or SDEX) for the best exchange rate between the token and USDC. This enables Freighter to provide a price that most accurately reflects what you would receive if you were to execute a swap from that token. Learn more about how swap tokens here.

Because Freighter uses the SDEX to source token prices, contract tokens like deJAAA or solvBTC that are not supported on the SDEX do not have prices and are not added to your total wallet balance. However, we plan to add support for other exchanges that do support contract tokens in the future.
