How do I add funds to my wallet?
Fund your wallet to get started using Freighter.
If this is the first time you are adding funds to your wallet, you'll need to fund it with XLM. See How much XLM do I need in my wallet? for more information on minimum balances.
If you've already funded your account with XLM and are looking to add a different token, you'll need to explicitly add it to your list of balances before you can receive transfers of it. See Add a token for more information on how to do that.
Once you're ready to get started funding your wallet, select the "Add" button after opening Freighter. From there you'll be presented with two options.
Buying Tokens
Freighter supports buying tokens directly within the app using Coinbase, which currently supports Stellar USDC and XLM. To get started, select "Buy with Coinbase" to be redirected to their site. For the best guidance, see their guide for using Coinbase Onramp. Once completed, you should see USDC or XLM arrive in your wallet shortly.
Transferring Tokens
Alternatively, you can transfer tokens from another wallet. Select "Transfer from another account" to get started with this approach.
Freighter will provide a QR code to scan if you're receiving tokens from someone else. Most wallets and exchanges that support Stellar support this QR code format.
You can also simply copy your address to provide to another wallet application. Some applications will ask if you want to provide a memo. This isn't required to receive funds in Freighter, but if your application requires it, including a memo has no effect and you will still receive your funds as long as the address is correct.
